Each 100Hands shirt takes 35 hours to complete – including 45 minutes for each buttonhole – but that's not evidence of the brand's commitment to craftsmanship. The proof is in the tactile end result, which shows how each subtle detail contributes to an exceptional garment. Founders Akshat and Varvara Jain set out to create shirts with the same ancient methods that artisans used to create pieces for the Maharajas of India, employing descendants of those skilled workers in the 100Hands workroom. As well as practising considered craft, the pair are working to banish any stigma attached to the 'Made in India' tag, providing safe working environments for their artisans, paying above-average wages and producing pieces that favour quality over quantity.
