- Product Notes
This is the stunning Speedmaster Tribute to Apollo XI that was made to commemorate NASA’s first moon landing in 1969. Its dial was unique amongst Speedies because of its square black markers and the fact that it was crafted out of solid gold. 1,014 pieces were made for the public, with inscriptions on its solid caseback in reference to the historic moon landing.
The watch is in superb mint condition, complete with its unique markers against the champagne dial and fit with a triple-link gold bracelet. The charming burgundy DON bezel is slightly faded, save for very minor scratches on the surface and along the edges. It is powered by the very reliable 861 calibre that was approved by NASA for its space missions. For any questions and styling advice, please contact us at: shop@therakemagazine.com.

The Story
If the fact that the RAF chose Omega watches as the timekeepers for its combat units in 1917, or that an Omega was the first watch on the moon in 1969 is not ample evidence of Omega's quality and reliability, you need only try on one of their models to get a fitting sense of how well crafted these watches are. A quick glance at some of the men whose wrists have sported an Omega watch might also help: this Swiss brand has counted Prince William, JFK and James Bond among its customers.
