Known as “the King of handmade leather jackets”, Alfredo Rifugio has more than fifty years of experience in the sewing industry, having dedicated himself to the craft from a young age. Having started his training at workshops and tailoring houses at the age of thirteen, he now leads a select team of skilled craftspeople in his Naples-based workshop. Rifugio’s jackets are like no other; leagues above industrially manufactured garments, his leatherwear is all hand-crafted. So artisanal are his pieces, sewing machines are rarely used. Instead, buttonholes and seams are brought to life with a humble needle and thread, allowing the maker full control over the cloth.
