Hazelnut Snakeskin Print Leather Stendhal Chelsea Boots$ 605
- Product Notes
Barbanera's Stendhals are as handsome as Chelsea boots come, shaped from snakeskin-print leather with contrasting arrow-shaped stretchy panels through the shafts. A “clean” version of Barbanera's Voodoo Child style, this design is tight through the foot and ankle but still ultra-comfortable. These boots include Cuban heels, leather soles and pull-tabs at the collar for easy wear. The perfect mix between classic and contemporary style, they bear the nom de plume of French 18th Century author Marie-Henri Beyle, a womanising man about town who Simone de Beauvoir praises in The Second Sex. Stendhal Syndrome is a psychosomatic condition involving rapid heartbeat, allegedly occurring when individuals become exposed to objects of great beauty.

Barbanera is the result of two pairs of brothers joining forces to create a thoughtful collection of shoes, hand-crafted in the idyllic Tuscan countryside. Sergio and Sebastiano Guardi, along with Alessandro and Filippo Pagliacci, founded the brand in 2011 with the intention of creating unique shoes with the same techniques used by the oldest and most respected cordwainers. Renowned for its two-tone designs and disregard for traditional styles, Barbanera footwear is for men who are interested in style and culture in equal measures, drawing inspiration from characters in the worlds of jazz, rock ‘n’ roll, blues, painting and writing.
