The rake

the modern voice of classic elegance

Norwegian Rain

Finding a solution to living in the drizzliest city in the world isn’t an easy task, but for tailor T-Michael and business graduate Alexander Helle, it led to the creation of a clothing brand. Norwegian Rain began in Bergen, where it’s said to shower two out of every three hours, and is centered around the idea of functional outerwear that doesn't compromise on style. Each design begins with highly technical fabric that is cut, sewn and manipulated to be completely waterproof, which is then subtly tweaked to appear more aesthetically pleasing. Working hard to be as environmentally friendly as possible, the duo also team up with eco suppliers to make their jackets, coats and rucksacks from recycled materials and organic cotton, while also working to exclude solvents, eliminate waste and decrease oil and energy consumption.
