Tan Calf Leather Oxford Punched Cap-Toe Shoes$ 460 40% Off $ 276
- Product Notes
Carmina's slim, tan Oxfords lace-ups are made from calf leather on their Simpson last, which has an elongated forepart and a slim, slightly squared toe. Punched-detailed toe caps distinguish this style, which is finished with a leather single sole and calf lining. It is carefully manufactured by Carmina's expert craftsmen who follow the exact same techniques that Charles Goodyear created in 1869. As Simpson is one of the brand's narrower lasts, we recommend that those with wide feet go up a half-size.

There aren't many footwear brands still committed to using traditional techniques - carving lasts from wood, drawing the designs with pencil or hand-nailing toe tips - but at Majorca-based Carmina, they're still held in high regard. Spanning four generations, the business is family-run, which perhaps explains how it's managed to maintain such practises, passed down from father to son. In 1961, Jose Albaladejo Pujadas, the great-grandson of the original founder, took over and morphed the company into what it is now: one of Spain's most renowned makers of shoes. Using quality materials, including shell cordovan leather, the brand creates classic Oxfords, loafers, monk straps and boots as well as pieces made-to-order.
