Black Boiled Wool and Sheep's Leather Cape$ 550
- Product Notes
Chapal's cape is a unique, conversation-starting piece cut from sheep's leather, suede and boiled wool from the Pyrenees. It fastens with real horn buttons. The brand suggests pairing it with a shirt, sweater or jacket but we figure if you can pull off a cape you can make it work with anything.

Although there are plenty of brands that create flight jackets, there are arguably none more qualified to do so than Chapal. Founded in France in 1832 as a tannery, the house was instrumental in advancing fabric technology in the area of aviation, including developing methods to waterproof shearling. As a result, the house was commissioned to create jackets for the French airforce during WWI and the Army Air Corp in 1922 – styles so sophisticated that they’re still worn and replicated today. Although now creating a wider range of leather goods, which are still treated at its own tannery, Chapal's flight jackets remain an embodiment of the house's pioneering history and exceptional craftmanship.
