This tropical tunic by Udeshi, draws inspiration from a World War Two Desert Rats tunic discovered in an old antique shop in Marylebone. Retaining key features such as the central box pleat, buttoning shirt cuffs, and epaulets, Udeshi has introduced modern updates like a simplified belt with double D rings and angled front waist pockets.
The central box pleat enhances freedom of movement, while the double D rings on the belt offer infinite adjustment and increased durability compared to the original rusty buckle. Signature pentagonal-shaped belt loops better distribute strain. Angled front pockets ensure ergonomic access and deep bellows allow for ample storage.
Crafted from pure Italian linen, prewashed for machine washability, this tunic boasts corozo buttons, also known as vegetable ivory, for a luxurious touch. With a body-conscious yet non-restrictive fit, it functions as an overshirt, ideal for weekends.
