Black Gabardine Wide Leg Hollywood Trousers$ 520

- Product Notes
This wider take on Edward Sexton's Hollywood-top trousers still pays homage to the original Nutter’s look that Edward was cutting in the 1970s but with wide parallel legs that offer a modern take on Oxford bags. Like the brand's other tops, they’re made with a structureless ‘grown on’ waistband and dropped belt-loops that enable them to sit high on the waist and remain comfortable to wear. They feel modern and clean, but carry a touch of Sexton nostalgia, too. The Hollywood trouser is a Sexton signature, but the design has been around since the 1930s. True to the original, these are cut with generous, flowing lines for an authentic art-deco look. They take their name from the trousers that costume departments ran up back in Hollywood's Golden Age. Edward Sexton's are not run-up but handmade to a house pattern.

There aren't many who have had such a significant impact on British tailoring as the formidable Edward Sexton, whose eye for detail and revolutionary craft helped shaped Savile Row into what it is today. Together with Tommy Nutter he opened Nutters of Savile Row in 1969, bringing a renewed energy to the iconic street and attracting high-profile customers from around the world. Having built up a firm reputation in his own right, Sexton launched his namesake label in 1990, relocating to Knightsbridge and further developing his own aesthetic characterised by an architectural yet flattering silhouette.
