- Product Notes
Edward Sexton's splendid seven-fold grenadine tie is made in collaboration with luxury Milanese tie-maker Bigi Cravatte. Made using an authentic, unlined seven-fold construction it is hand rolled, hand-tipped and delicately slip-stitched in time-honoured tradition. The result is a tie that feels soft, three-dimensional and which sits comfortably on the neck. It holds an elegant dimple when knotted and recovers beautifully from a day’s wear. Playing with different textures is an important part of the Sexton aesthetic, so each of these ties is made from the best imported tussah silk woven in Italy. Tussah is a thick, soft silk yarn and lends a classic tie a contemporary, mottled quality – it’s perfect for relaxing a tailored look.

There aren't many who have had such a significant impact on British tailoring as the formidable Edward Sexton, whose eye for detail and revolutionary craft helped shaped Savile Row into what it is today. Together with Tommy Nutter he opened Nutters of Savile Row in 1969, bringing a renewed energy to the iconic street and attracting high-profile customers from around the world. Having built up a firm reputation in his own right, Sexton launched his namesake label in 1990, relocating to Knightsbridge and further developing his own aesthetic characterised by an architectural yet flattering silhouette.
