- Product Notes
Reinterpreted from a jumper deemed the islander's ‘Sunday Best’, the Aran sweater was formally regarded as luxury and was often worn by young children for their first communion. Rendered from beautiful Merino wool, the slight twist on the cable knit stitch sits proudly in front and would work well with a white shirt undernearth.

Heritage, innovation and environmental inspiration make up the pillars of the Inis Meáin Knitting Company. Founded by Tarlach de Blácam and Áine Ní Chonghaile in 1976, they were determined to make a living from the ground up and their endeavours encouraged emigrants, who would have otherwise left the island, to come and work for them, creating beautiful fisherman style knitwear, crafted from high-quality yarns for a contemporary, but traditional finish. They can create up for 50 different styles each season thanks to detailed depictions of historic styles worn on the island many years previously. Authenticity takes the helm when it comes to design, and proven dedication runs through the each and every stitch.
