The Story

The Kirk family began making frames for glasses back in 1919, since which time they have slowly but surely earned themselves a reputation for inventiveness and innovation. This creative approach led to their label Kirk Originals - founded in 1992 - becoming synonymous with Cool Britannia in the 1990s, when their sunglasses were adopted by Britpop legends Oasis, and acclaimed actors Anthony Hopkins and Gary Oldman. Today, the brand is recognised for having repopularised classic vintage silhouettes from the heyday of glamour in the 1950s and 1960s by reinventing them in new styles and materials. This spirit of modernisation is matched by an unparalleled knowledge of craftsmanship; the entirety of the Kirk Originals range is made in England or elsewhere in Europe.
