The Story
Family ties and camaraderie are the driving force behind this hearty Italian tailoring house. Now residing in the enchanting medieval town of Filottrano, Lardini was first started in the seventies by Luigi Lardini at the budding age of just 18. Charged with a passion for sartorial elegance, he decided to turn that passion into a menswear collection. Noticing the potential of his brother’s endeavour, the rest of the Lardini family soon followed suit and the brand became a true family legacy. Luigi was behind the substance of the brand; the clothes. His brother, Andrea, handled the technological side, one sister, Lorena, took on administrative duties whilst the other, Annarita, dealt with the finances. None of this would have been possible however without the initial monetary support and backing from their father, who sensed how successful his children’s eagerness could serve them. 1978 brought in burgeoning business, attracting a number of renowned customers, and earned the Lardini label a reputable name for itself. This initial prosperity and established 15-year introduction encouraged the brand to make headway and release their first named collection in 1993.
