Charcoal and Blue Check Wool Sarsfield Coat

  • Product Notes

This check lambswool Sarsfield jacket is a great choice for winter hunts, though we think it looks just as good in town. It is single-breasted with three front buttons, notched lapels and deep bellows pockets with contrasting bellows. The contrasting under collar is a Lucan signature. This style has a left chest welt pocket and lined button flaps. There are four leather football buttons on each cuff and a centre back vent.

Each Lucan design has a story linked to the brand's British and Irish roots. Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan in an earlier creation, was an Irish hero who famously lead the "Flight of the Wild Geese" out of Limerick and into France in 1690, saving the remnant Jacobite forces from the Protestant King William. These "geese" -- dispossessed Catholic aristocrats and landowners-- and their descendants went on to become leaders of imperial armies and soldiers of fortune throughout Europe and the continents beyond. The Sarsfield is a sporting jacket for adventurous men.
