The Story
As one of the few remaining heritage shoemakers still family-owned, traditional techniques and meticulous high standards are of the utmost importance at Ludwig Reiter. Founded in Vienna in 1885, the business is now helmed by great-grandson Till Reiter, who brings expertise passed down through four generations. While those old skills are used for crafting fine leather footwear – the brand’s piece de resistance is the Husaren cavalry boot, worn by Brad Pitt in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds – the house creates contemporary tennis shoes and simple espadrilles with equal flair.
