  • Product Notes

Rado has been an innovator in material engineering and design since its earliest days, but it's also created notable and memorable timepieces, which are being recalled and updated in its Tradition collection. One important line that was established by the brand in 1962, and more recently revived by the brand is the Captain Cook series. The Captain Cook watch was revived in a true-to-original form by Rado, and further expanded on with limited editions such as the Captain Cook "Ghost Captain", a collaboration timepiece by Rado, The Rake and Revolution. Building on its success, the brand has now updated the Captain Cook to a contemporary style and size, with a signature bezel material that is HyperChrome, with the same ETA C07.611 caliber that offers a power reserve of up to 80 hours. The automatic timepiece is now sized at 42mm, and the generous dial allows the watch's design to breathe, while giving space to infuse more trendy styles to the series. This watch is available in a black dial with a modern lume, a tropical-style dial with vintage lume, and in a stunning marine blue with modern luminous paint on the hands and indexes. They are also available on a suede strap or with a seven-link bracelet. Revolution is proud to offer these six references on our platform, available for order right now.

The Story

Rado's philosophy has remained the same since its conception in 1917: "If we can imagine it, we can make it." With the original atelier merely a conversion of founders Fritz, Ernst and Werner Schlup's parents house, Rado's innovative design and use of revolutionary materials made the brand one of the world's largest producers of watch movements by the end of the Second World War.
