The Death of the Stag Silk Pocket Square

$ 90
  • Product Notes

    This epic painting admirably represents West's heroic and monumental style, illustrating a legend in which the first chieftain of the Clan Mackenzie saves the life of the Scottish King. Colin Fitzgerald is shown about to spear a fierce stag who had turned on the Scottish King, Alexander III, during a hunting expedition. West enhances the drama and intensity of the moment by including other huntsmen, horses and dogs in dynamic poses and striking gestures. We've designed a border that we feel is a suitable fit for the style and theme of the painting, providing a unique pattern when showing the points from your pocket. The painting itself has recently been conserved in public in the Scottish National Gallery.
