    SOLD OUT

We are honoured to offer this issue of Sinn's iconic 155 Bundeswehr, our exclusive collaboration with the German brand.

Sinn has previously allowed just two limited re-editions of their fabled military chronograph. The first was in 2005 for the Japanese market in the original configuration, and in 2008, an automatic variation. Made in 200 and 272 pieces respectively, both watches are modern cult collectables and command significant premiums over their retail prices today.
Our design unites the best features of both. We’ve gone back to the original two-counter configuration and added a cream-coloured patina to the indexes and hands for the aged tritium look, and even included a very subtle fade to the rotating bezel so that in strong direct light it reflects purple.

The case is matte and comes in the same 43mm dimension as the vintage watches. We’ve also kept the original Bund strap. For added value, we’ve also commissioned a heavy-duty sand-coloured NATO strap with brushed keepers and provided a strap-changing tool.

Featured at six o’clock on the dial is a very subtle black-on-black star in the exact place where the “3H” marking (designating the existence of tritium) appeared on the military watches. It is this small detail that gives the watch its sobriquet the Sinn × The Rake & Revolution 55 Bundeswehr “Dark Star.”

The Story

Sinn might be dubbed the official watch of Frankfurt’s financial district, so popular are their watches with Germany’s banking elite. Based in Frankfurt since 1961, the company’s designs also meet the needs of far more daring professionals, including firefighters, divers, and special units of the armed forces. The Rake admires their groundbreaking technical innovation and penchant for rare materials (TEGIMENT-treated Damascus steel, for starters), as well as their knack for attractive shaping and fine details. Display your flawless taste sleeve-side with one of our selection.
