Jamie Ferguson is one of the most charming and likeable photographers in menswear and is often seen lurking on the ground in the city of Florence at Pitti Uomo. It is in the birthplace of the Renaissance that he consistently captures an instant in time that epitomises genuine menswear style. He also recently became an author, with his book This Guy - a fascinating collection of his photographs celebrating modern menswear. It is certainly worth picking up a copy, if you can get your mitts on one. You can peruse Jamie's handpicked selection from The Rake below. Already owning a pair of Stubbs and Wootton slippers which are perhaps a tad subtler, I'm quite drawn to these needlepoint versions for something with a little more punch. Shop Stubbs & Wootton here.

I'm all over a roll neck as the colder months fast approach, especially a chunky, rough and ready one such as this from Heimat. A definite 'beater' if ever there was one. Shop Heimat here.

I'd top off the last look with one of the corduroy baseball caps from Rowing Blazers. Sometimes the hair just doesn't pay attention and can easily be hidden by a great cap. Shop Rowing Blazers here.

A classic tartan and a wonderful pop of colour for any jacket or piece of outerwear you care to throw it under.
A great pattern in a very versatile shade of brown, the linen will rumple nicely and pair well with some worn and frayed denim jeans and cordovan penny loafers. Shop De Petrillo here.

A rather safe piece sure but half the fun is what you pair with it; a bright red raincoat, a green Harris Tweed jacket, a pair of black tassel loafers. Dressing 'up' is certainly the route that I usually try to take with an item like this.
