Hublot x Bucherer

Hublot x Bucherer

Many will know Hublot for their groundbreaking Big Bang family of watches, the likes of which have helped to define the 21st century sports watch, yet the Swiss watch brand’s Classic Fusion line is equally heroic in that it successfully combines Hublot’s trademark sporting credentials with more traditional design cues. In other words they are hugely versatile, and can transition effortlessly between sharply tailored ensembles and casual weekend attire.

The Classic Fusion design is undoubtedly derived from the Big Bang, yet its more simple and stripped back, allowing a number of details to take centre stage. The exposed screws on the bezel have become somewhat of a signature, featuring a subtle ‘H’ design on the head and the contrasting brushed/polished finishing on the case adds plenty of visual depth, somehow helping to make the watch wear smaller than it actually is. For the latest chapter in the Classic Fusion story, Hublot have collaborated again with Bucherer, creating two highly wearable, highly blue timepieces that will make for a Rakish addition to anyone’s collection.

Have a gander on Bucherer’s website and you’ll notice that the predominant colour is blue. It is not surprise then that for their partnership with Hublot that is the colour they chose, although in doing this they’ve also ticked one of the major watch trends for 2016; blue-on-blue. Two watches have been created, one chronograph and one time-only piece. For the case material, Hublot have utilised their beautiful satin-finished titanium on both watches, which is complemented nicely by a black ceramic bezel and Hublot-signed titanium crown. Both pieces feature gorgeous sun ray satin-finished dials, yet the chronograph is elevated further with contrasting black sub dials at 3 and 6 o’clock, which are tastefully sunken into the main dial. Furthering the blue theme is a blue-tinted Watch Gallery sapphire case back, allowing owners to peer into the HUB1112 and HUB1143 calibre movements.

Adrian Maronneau, Director of Buying & Merchandising at Bucherer encapsulates the watch perfectly: “Our limited edition bridges the gap between sports style and an elegant evening watch. The deep blue of the dial will perfectly complement any formal occasion while the fusion of the ceramic bezel and titanium case underline the toughness of the watch with a completely unique and fresh look”.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Special Edition retails for £7,500. The Chronograph retails for £9,500. For more information visit Hublot, or Bucherer.
