We've now returned from our bi-annual pilgrimage to Pitti Uomo and what a week it was. A highlight, though, was undoubtedly our soirée with the Spanish espadrille masters Manebí in the gardens of Hotel Palazzo Castri.
We had a reason to celebrate, too, as we launched two exclusive espadrilles that bear the marks of a skull and cutlass motif embroidered on the uppers. Coming in navy suede or neutral canvas (which has sadly since sold out), there's an extra-comfort heel cushion that has both collaborators' logos and a rubber sole, making it a fine summer shoe that can take you from the beach in the day to the restaurant in the evening with a rakish touch.
The party was attended by a long-list of Pitti goers, both partners of The Rake and dear friends, all of whom had a fine opportunity to wind down after a day in the Florentine heat (it was an uncomfortably hot few days in Florence) with innumerable glasses of prosecco and perfectly sized servings of gelato. What more could you want?
We'd like to extend a huge thank you to Manebí and everyone who made it.
