The Rake takes Courmayeur
With the ski season fully underway, The Rake went to Courmayeur to test drive the latest skiwear by Alps & Meters and Fusalp...

Under the watch of the mighty Mont Blanc, the Italian commune of Courmayeur nestles high in the Aosta Valley, some 4000ft above sea level. It has long been the winter refuge of alpinists for whom the skiing terrain of the Vallee Blanche, which links up the French town of Chamonix, provides seemingly endless challenging runs and off-piste adventure. So there was no better place for The Rake to carve some fresh lines, equipped with our favourite skiwear brands Alps & Meters and Fusalp, whose respective aesthetics hark bark to an era when the best-dressed at sea-level carried their sartorial preferences up the mountain, forging an active winter wardrobe that boasted all of the elegance of their everyday style. Fortunately for today's skiers, the likes of Alps & Meters and Fusalp have combined the technical knowhow of contemporary skiwear with the sophistication of old, to create clothing that looks as good on the slopes as it does carving a path to the apres bar.
