Lardini Brown Check Double-Breasted Blazer
There’s one small detail that distinguishes a Lardini jacket — the lapel flower. A nod to the French band Nouvelle Vague, it represents a free, masculine spirit which is reflected in all of its offering. This double-breasted number features a peak lapel with a high gauge, which draws the eye at a high angle, enhancing the broad silhouette. The check, however, is less commanding – instead, it's subtle and tasteful, which perhaps reflects the brand’s other ethos of modern romanticism. From afar, it appears as a simple windowpane check, however, on closer inspection you’ll see the intricate houndstooth weave. Much to many purist’s dismay, double-breasted Italian tailoring on the whole looks best undone — a touch of sprezzatura, if you like. Due to the lightness of construction and tone of cloth, keep it equally light but throw in some added colour in the breast pocket. £875.00, www.therake.com.
