Last night, The Rake and Ralph Lauren celebrated the launch of The Rake x Ralph Lauren Dubai Limited Edition RL867 Watch at an intimate event in Dubai.
Last night, The Rake and Ralph Lauren celebrated the launch of The Rake x Ralph Lauren Dubai Limited Edition RL867 Watch at an intimate event in Dubai. The country’s glamorous citizens were invited to join us at the Jameel Arts Centre, where they had the opportunity to discover the limited edition, Middle Eastern-inspired Swiss-made timepiece for the first time.
Founder of The Rake, Wei Koh and Ralph Lauren’s Head of Watches, Guillaume Tetu welcomed friends of The Rake, watch aficionados, as well as local actors and models to the event, gathering a well-heeled spectrum of influential Emirati and Middle-Eastern tastemakers together in one place. Although hosted in Dubai, there was a palpable international spirit—with our guests representing countries from across the United Arab Emirates, as well as our London and Singapore team. As guests mingled over Negronis (a welcome feature at The Rake’s events) and other delicious cocktails, the sound of chatter filled the Jameel Arts Centre, and the cheery atmosphere was heightened by a swinging jazz performance from the talented Sean Lipsey—who crooned classic songs from the likes of Frank Sinatra.
With the room now in a convivial mood, everyone was then invited to sit outside for an intimate dinner under the stars. The Dubai skyline glowed in the horizon, while the art space’s terrace was transformed into a beautiful banquet setting, as guests tucked into their three-course-meal and learned about The Rake x Ralph Lauren Dubai Limited Edition RL867—which is limited to only twenty beautifully-made pieces. With the guests dressed splendidly in Ralph Lauren’s Holiday 22 Collection, it was surely the most stylish crowd in Dubai that evening (and we would hazard to say in the entire region), and as the numbers slowly whittled down into the night, a small gathering of friends of The Rake remained together to enjoy cigars, good conversation, and merriment into the early hours of the morning, with the inviting warmth of the air (and the brightly-lit skyline) tempting us away from leaving.
For a single night in Dubai, we were proud to introduce the city to their very own version of The Rake x Ralph Lauren Dubai Limited Edition RL867, as well as create new friends and reminisce with old ones. Our event was a tribute to a city most dear to us, and one of the few places on earth that embody an unbridled Rakish spirit: Dubai.
