There aren't many shirtmakers that still cut and stitch buttonholes by hand, one of the many skills that have dwindled in favour of machine finish. But it's these kinds of techniques that distinguish Marol's shirts from others, a mark of pride for a brand entrenched in heritage. Founded by Rosanna Saguatti and her husband Luciano Vignudelli in 1959 in Bologna, the brand quickly became renowned for its expert craft, meticulous finish and lavish fabrics among the city’s elite. In 1980, the reins were handed over to daughter Manuela, who steered the business into a globally recognised brand. Nowadays, a team of skilled artisans hand cuts, sews and finishes each shirt in the ancient Italian city with fastidious detail, producing casual, business and formal shirts with unrivalled quality.
