The rake

the modern voice of classic elegance

Oliver Goldsmith

While a tall claim, it's fair to credit Oliver Goldsmith with turning practical eyewear into an expression of style. As one of the first to utilise acetate as a material for glasses, the brand was able to create more complex and exaggerated designs, which, from the 50s, were donned by the likes of Michael Caine, Audrey Hepburn and Peter Sellers, becoming synonymous with fashion and celebrity culture. Now headed by Oliver’s great-granddaughter Claire Goldsmith, the brand draws from its impressive archive, dating from the late 50s through to the 80s, to recreate styles that feel as relevant today as ever.
