Church's for The Rake: "An Almanac of British Eccentricities"

Theo James – the perennial gentleman – is back in Church's Spring-Summer 2026 campaign.

Church's for The Rake: "An Almanac of British Eccentricities"

From folios, to falconry, to fêtes, Church’s Spring-Summer 2026 campaign with Theo James showcases the brand’s new collection as the perfect vessel to cover every corner and contour within the quintessential “Almanac of British Eccentricities”. Set across the expansive grounds of an English estate, the campaign marries both tradition with whimsy and heritage with innovation as James tries on various proverbial hats while donning an elegant yet pragmatic array of footwear, approved by those of us at The Rake (and the home’s miniature porcine playmates).

The day begins – as most writers optimistically envision – at the typewriter, James hammering away on the veranda, with a glimpse at the smooth Rother loafers that combine comfort and creativity.

The morning is punctuated by a constitutional, with James opting for a pair of polished Shanghai monk straps that have been crafted from a single piece of leather and feature brogueing with laser precision, reinterpreted from the iconic 1929 Shanghai original.

As the hours transpire into a leisurely afternoon, the Rother loafers make another appearance, adorned with ecru linen and brown leather detailing to complement the cream-coloured pages of the many tomes occupying the majestic library. For scrappier (though still sophisticated) occasions, the suede Reigate ankle boots prove a comfortable companion.

By nightfall, Hampstead oxfords are the obvious choice for a refined evening, though supple enough for an impromptu game of lawn bowls.

The latest collection encapsulates over a century and a half of tradition and craft that distinguishes Church’s approach, embodied in charming vignettes that cater to rakish – yet contemporary – sensibilities.

Of their latest collaboration, James says, “Working with Church’s again is a great pleasure. The craftsmanship and heritage of the brand resonates with how I see style – timeless, considered, and built to last.”
