Rake Commends

From a bomber jacket and a bike to a Dunhill lighter and a classic Jaguar, update your winter style — and your partner’s — with the help of these seasonal unisex gems.

Royal Enfield Classic 650

New for 2025, Royal Enfield’s Classic 650 takes the Indian brand’s time-honoured, early 20th-century silhouette and updates it with a thumping 650cc twin engine, large drilled disk brakes and Showa suspension. It’s available in a range of colours, but the chrome, black and gold finish is a particularly stylish way to travel.

Shackleton watch cap

A watch cap is an excellent winter companion, regardless of your head size, style preference or profession. Derived from cold-weather military hats, and with a hint of Pacino’s Serpico about them, they are both practical and easy to style. This one by Shackleton benefits from its 100 per cent Merino wool fabric, which is soft against the forehead and quick-drying.

Malle London Submariner roll-neck

Made in Britain from heavyweight Merino wool, this classic roll-neck is knitwear at its best. Taking inspiration from those issued to the Royal Navy since world war II, it comes with set-in sleeves, ribbed cuffs and hem, and a robust, chunky weave that’ll battle the cold in style.

Chopard Alpine Eagle 41

A modern interpretation of the Chopard St. Moritz watch created in 1980 by the brand’s now co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, the Alpine Eagle is a thoroughly modern sports watch with an eighties flavour. It comes with a beautifully finished integrated bracelet, exposed screws on its large bezel, and a pine-green dial that references the eagle’s iris. Its 41mm size is the ideal middle ground, and will suit a wide variety of wrist sizes.

&Sons Rogue Night Fly-R jacket

We’ve long championed the leather bomber jacket as a unisex staple, whether in A-1 or A-2 form, or in the unmistakable style of the B3. This &Sons jacket takesafter the latter, and it’s one of the finest examples we’ve seen for a while. Made in Somerset by the sheepskin specialists Owen Barry, it comes with a shoulder emblem handpainted by the artist Ed Stanford, as well as a multi-panelled, oiled leather outer and Icelandic sheepskin lining.

E.B. Meyrowitz Californian

For the finest eyewear, look no further than E.B. Meyrowitz. Each of the brand’s spectacles and sunglasses are handcrafted in London, from materials including acetate, buffalo horn or antique tortoiseshell. Available as ready-to-wear or as part of a bespoke commission, the Californian has a classic sixties shape that’ll work with everything from a leather jacket to three-piece tailoring.

Dunhill Rollagas Pattern turbo lighter

A Dunhill lighter has long been one of the most attractive objects one can own. This example has a number of details that help it stand out. There’s its exposed ignition mechanism, which lends it a vintage, industrial look, and its unique finish, made from black lacquered brass and coated in palladium.

Danner Double Haul belt

Handmade in the U.S. from tough, oil-tanned harness leather, this Danner belt is the perfect finishing touch to vintage denim. The double-stitched edges hint at its durability while the matte gunmetal roller buckle completes the rustic, Americana feel.

Jaguar F-Type R 75

The Jaguar F-Type has been the benchmark for the classic British sports car for some time, but with the reimagining of Jaguar, it is no more. So this might be the perfect time to invest in this future classic. The final edition R 75 model has an old-school, 5.0-litre supercharged V8 and 567bhp, as well as the clean, sleek looks that have cemented the car’s status as a motoring icon.

La Flor de Cano Selectos No.3

You very rarely get a new Flor de Cano, but this cigar comes loaded with an awful lot of pressure, as the last UK Regional, the Gran Cano, was considered one of the best cigars of the last decade. This Selectos No.3 is longer and thinner, with a 42 ring gauge, but will be swiped up fast so get reserving.
