So Much Owed: Issue 87's Fashion Feature

The field of human conflict inevitably involves human sacrifice, and it is up to later generations to preserve the memory of the fallen. The Aircraft Restoration Company at RAF Duxford in Cambridgeshire is an example of this important work. The Rake was thrilled to join them for a day to help honour the spirit of the few to whom so much is owed.

Aerial photographs taken by George Lewis Romain, the in-house photographer and Creative Director at the Aircraft Restoration Company. Founded in 1989, Aircraft Restoration Co. (ARCo) is a family owned engineering business specialising in the restoration, maintenance and operation of vintage aircraft. From their facility at Duxford airfield in Cambridgeshire, they provide an extensive range of industry-leading services to private collectors and the Royal Air Force’s Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. In 2018, ARCo began providing immersive flight experiences in vintage aircraft, such as the specially modified two-seat Spitfire, via their purpose-built adventure department, Aerial Collective Duxford.
