Chocolate Teddy Bear Coat$ 2,724 Includes tax for United Kingdom
- Product Notes
Originally crafted from heavy racoon fur to keep motorists warm, Motoluxe’s famed Teddy Bear coat has been reimagined for the modern day, using a cotton-backed deep-pile blend of alpaca and mohair that is exclusively woven by Steiff. The double-breasted design is ideal for keeping the chill out, secured tightly with the belted waist, while the collar and peak lapels look elegant flat or flicked up to cover the neck.

In an era when most automobiles were open-topped, warm attire was essential – which is how Motoluxe was born. Founded in 1905, the British apparel brand created heavy racoon fur coats, which were designed to protect against the harshest of conditions. Although originally intended for motoring, the coats were soon adopted as fashion statements, worn by the likes of Mick Jagger for everyday wear. Although Motoluxe fell out of business in the 1960s, the company has been revived by fellow British brand Mason & Sons, using the same bold shape but with lighter materials, including cotton-backed alpaca and quilted satin lining.
