New & Lingwood New & Lingwood x Fratelli Piacenza x The Rake Vicuña Gown A vicuña gown is a first for New & Lingwood, a luxury even by the outfitter’s indulgent standards. As one of the oldest makers of knitwear in the world, Biella-based Piacenza Cashmere knows the importance of fine fibres – and how to turn them into exceptional pieces. New & Lingwood have worked with Piacenza for many years. The aim of the collaboration for New & Lingwood was to create a gown that needs to be seen and felt in the flesh to be fully appreciated and to utlize the soft, elegant, refined nature of the cloth, without having to over-design the piece. This unique piece of loungewear has been constructed entirely from vicuña, the world’s softest and most expensive yarn, in turn making this the world’s most expensive dressing gown. The gown has been designed with minimal detailing - three patch pockets with black piping and a fringed tie-belt – simply to let the lustrous, softly-draping cloth speak for itself, rightfully known in South America as the ‘fleece of the Gods’. The retail value of the gown is $2,500 Please see here to read more about the gown.
