Create Your Own Bespoke Tweed with Huntsman

Rake readers and bespoke purists, it’s time to release that inner child of yours. So locate your pencil case and prepare to get creative as Huntsman — one of Savile Row’s most esteemed and oldest tailoring establishments — is offering you the chance to create your very own bespoke tweed. This is the epitome of bespoke tailoring; an opportunity to see a creative seed from your imagination grow into an unprecedented cloth and then tailored to fit your body perfectly in the form of a Huntsman tweed jacket, one of the house’s signatures. And to top it all off, you get to hark back to those playground days of scribbling and doodling till your heart’s content. Oh the nostalgia.

It’s a shared global and sartorial understanding that Britain has always produced some of the finest wool in the world, and Huntsman, occupants of No. 11 Savile Row, is a tailor who champions the absolute highest when it comes to the fabric. Commissioning and weaving all their tweeds at the family-run Islay Woollen Mill, which naturally and fittingly boasts far greater heritage than any other mill in the Inner Hebrides, you can be rest assured your design will be made from tweed of supreme quality. Simply name dropping some of the house’s clients is an assurance in itself – think Winston Churchill, Clark Gable and Gregory Peck.

Arguably, Huntsman’s tweed jacket is the establishment’s most heralded garment, and its magnificence lies in the fact that it is remarkably dynamic yet remains appropriate in a number of scenarios. Whether you're in a nearby metropolis or amongst rolling green fields, a cocktail reception or in your local watering hole — Huntsman’s tweed jacket will keep you looking stylistically on point. An investment, you ask? Yes, 100%. So, choose between a Glen Urquhart, houndstooth with overcheck, Russell tweed or tartan check design and start drawing.
